Alland Byallo is one of the busiest men in the San Francisco Techno community. Having produced electronic music for over 10 years (and DJ'd for nearly as long) Alland come to be an international DJ and producer, releasing music on respected US and European record labels such as Liebe*Detail, Floppy Funk, Dirtybird, and Utensil Recordings, and headlining events on both sides of the country. His music, a blend of old and new elements of techno, house and minimal, is regularly charted and has been licensed to CD’s released by labels like Universal and Proton Music.

Not only is he resident, designer and A&R for the States’ most notorious techno night, [KONTROL], he is also booked regularly alongside talents such as Superpitcher, Trentemoller, Swayzak, Modeselektor, Claude VonStroke, Jeff Samuel, Heartthrob, Ambivalent and many others. Alland has quickly grown to be one of the most in-demand Techno talents that SF has to offer, and after performing live at Seattle‘s Decibel Festival and DJing at Lovefest this year, it’s obvious that 2008 promises to be a huge year for both him and his label, Nightlight Music.

With a residency at one of San Francisco's longest running house nights, 8 successful years of DJ'ing behind him, numerous side projects such as Lark After Dark (in collaboration with Chaz Sugarfoot) a resident DJ and promoter of America's best minimal techno night, [KONTROL] Sammy D.'s middle name is versatility. His prodigal talent as a musican and DJ, combined with a 6th sense for whipping any crowd into a funk, has taken San Francisco by storm. Sammy brings a bumpy, dirty deep sound to what has become the most innovative house and techno in years.

Craig Kuna

With a successful techno monthly at the End UP plus his side project Platform, an underground showcase for Detroit techno, Craig Kuna is one of San Francisco's more quiet leaders. Behind the scenes, Craig holds his own, both as a longtime promoter and talented DJ.
With his steadfast persistence and grounded nature attending to every detail of his parties, Craig has emerged as one of the most dedicated souls, creating an SF techno scene out of its house-music roots.

Nikola Baytala

His skills go beyond impeccable mixing; what sets Nikola aside is his finesse for seemless programming, fusing the rarest tech grooves with legendary jack tracks, creating long, complex mixes for the dancefloor. When Nikola steps up to the decks, he's known for turning things up, keeping the room relentlessly vibrating with funky soul-inflicted beats, percussive house melodies, techy kicks, and mean basslines. Nikola is an underground legend in San Francisco and his closing sets have earned him his reputation and guarantee to leave the city buzzing!!

What is [KONTROL]?
[KONTROL] is a monthly event at the End Up in San Francisco that focuses on Minimal Techno and Avant House. [KONTROL] consists of Greg Bird and resident DJs Alland Byallo, Craig Kuna, Sammy D, and Nikola Baytala. Techno is in a renaissance and [KONTROL] has been an intricate part in redefining the city's sound. It has been instrumental in bringing techno to the masses by bringing in the biggest DJ's and producers from around the world. [KONTROL] is a tight group of very close friends who love techno, play techno, and expose the San Francisco dance music community to quality, forward-thinking techno and house music; now its our turn to expose the Portland dance music community.
