With over 80 years experience collectively Simon Posford and Raja Ram are more than qualified for the exploration into the unclassifiable music frontiers they have ventured into; ‘SHPONGLE’ is a new world of traditional sounds, acoustic guitars, Moroccan drums, Turkish operatic singing, cello, double bass, backing vocals and silver flute blended together with the computer wizardry of Simon Posford's studio production. Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) has long had a reputation as the, 'Hallucinogenius' a imitable pioneer in sound experimentation, from his seminal first album, 'Twisted', up to his recent Millennium hit, 'Mi-Loony-Um' with its up-to-the minute modem melodies. Raja Ram, is the innovative sonic co-pilot producing alongside Simon and providing inspirational artwork for the album covers and the website as well as his unmistakable flute solo's in C Major. A founding member of the band Quintessence in the sixties Raja has many years of band experience in the music industry. Not only a band member but also the creator of TIP Records along with their infamous party sound and energy, he is not only a brilliant flautist but the inspirational man behind the ‘Shpongle’ concept. Shpongle has been a working project since the release of the first album in 1998 filtered out into the underground in which Twisted Records is so renown for its dance music, having sold 30,000 copies without any noticeable press coverage. Now finally the UK has a chance to catch up on this worldwide phenomena with the forthcoming release of their second album, 'Tales of the Inexpressible' with its further explorations into diverse sound production they are ready to unleash the multiversity that is ‘SHPONGLE’.






Hallucinogen (LIVE) aka Simon Posford is a pioneer of electronic music and founder of the psy-trance scene. With the release of his first album, "Twisted", which reached Number 27 in the French album charts, a genre was born. There are many words to describe modern electronic music but none that come close to the wealth of emotion and experience that comes from listening to a Posford tune. These days he is just as likely to be entrancing crowds around the globe with a throbbingly epic live set as he is to be dribbling ambient delectations in the Hallucinogen Soundlabs in the West Country. He is co-director of Twisted Records with Simon Holton, ex-label manager of Dragonfly Records. Their label is one of the hottest underground gatherings of talent this side of Mars. Hallucinogen's second album "The Lone Deranger" blew the lid off the musical scene that had built up around his influence. Not only did it have more of the killer musical riffs but also was a feat of clean production and professionalism previously seen with the likes of The Floyd, one of Simon's major influences. Another tune that influenced Simon was "The Age of Love" by Jam & Spoon and this can be heard in some of his earlier releases. More recently he has produced tracks with Benji Vaughan as their band Younger Brother, Simon Posford has completed new sounds with Dub 'Ott' & Hallucinogen and is currently collaborating with the Twisted Allstars and touring the world spreading his music to all sorts. There is talk of a 'Hallucinogen 3' but Simon's most recent album is "Tales of the Inexpressible", his second album by Shpongle. Simon is the musical genius behind Shpongle and for this latest orgy of brain fluid he gathered 4 other talented musicians, as well, of course, as Raja Ram- Druid of Psy.

Osiris Indriya is a true magician behind the decks. His studies in ritual magick and music composition combined with his experience as a co-founder and resident of the legendary Oracle Gatherings of the Pacific NW have inspired consistent explosive sets of tribal percussion, deep atmospheres, and chunky relentless basslines. His hard and funky tribal progressive sound has been featured along side Simon Posford (Shpongle / Hallucinogen - Twisted Records), Ticon (Digital Structures), Atmos and Human Blue (Spiral Trax / ACDC) and has made him as an official label DJ for Iboga Records from Denmark (www.iboga.dk). Osiris has performed peak hour sets at Shambhala Music Festival in Salmo, BC; the Earthdance hub event in Laytonville, California; The Dreamtime Festival in Paonia, CO; The Double 6 in Kuta, Bali; and countless underground forest parties, beach parties, club nights and concerts all over the US, Canada, and Japan. Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He co-founded Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe's tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. All this has helped inspire the release of his all original progressive and downtempo CD, "Reach Within", a remix of Antix "Little Honey" with Australia's SunControlSpecies released by Iboga Records on the album "Twin Coast Remixes" and the prerelease track "Gifted" which has had regular rotation on SomaFM's Groove Salad internet radio. http://www.osirisindriya.com

Amanita ~ From the rain soaked environment of the NorthWest and with a deep connection to electronic music, Brian Parker DJ, Producer, Promoter and A&R Representative for Infinite Connections continues to be featured alongside a global family of innovative and underground electronic music producers including Hallucinogen, Shpongle, KoxBox, Ticon, Atmos, Antix, Ace Ventura and FreQ at a variety of festivals, gatherings, club nights and events up and down the the Americas. Having been a integral part of various crews in California and the NorthWest for the better part of a decade Brian teamed up with Infinite Connections in 2005 to help shape and create a series of events known as "IOSIS Art Parties". Simon Posford for the win. Twisted remains one of the most influential electronic albums in my life, but I've still never had the chance to see Hallucinogen OR Shpongle live. I was out of freakin' town the last two times they played here... But not this time! I'm in!

I am so glad that you (Infinite Connections) picked up this booking. What you guys don't know, is that Seattle was SKIPPED again on the U.S. tour. I called Simon's agent months ago to (foolishly) try to get a show for this month. Ron Rivilan (Simon's agent) and I worked out MAY 8th as a ADDED DATE to an already finished tour. Ron and I then bounced the booking price around and back and forth...and I tried to deal with my own demons about having to miss a buddy's wedding to do this show. It ends up that Ron insulted me and my venue, He asked for WAY too much, and in my honest opinion insulted Shpongle fanswith some choice words that I will not repeat.


MY POINT IS.....THANK YOU Infinite Connections for picking up the slack and getting us Shpongle. I'm sure this is going to be an amazing show. If there is anything I can do to help in any aspect of the show....Please do not hesitate to contact me....

I am proud that in a small small way I helped get Simon to Seattle.....because this town's name was Skip (again)

So, is this "LIVE" Hallucinogen show with an actual band or is it a "LIVE" set by Posford?

Hallucinogen does not play with a band. Hallucinogen is Simon playing a LIVE electronic set. It is Shpongle that is a live band, but as stated earlier in the thread, it is very rare to get the full 9 piece band, so you normally get a Simon DJ Shpongle set - which is actually AWESOME, I might add.

I was thinking of Hallucinogen in Dub which I have seen with a full band and was awesome! Posford on Guitar, Ott on keyboards and i am not sure who the other two were.
