"Where the power of words ends, the music begins."


Following that credo, German producer Matthias Baumann was instantly amazed, as he - at a very young age in front of a piano – discovered, that only three little notes, put together in the right direction and played with a certain sound, are sufficient to evoke emotions. Even more, those same notes could trigger different emotions in different people, depending on so many different factors.

Take this still existing childlike exaltation, add a never ending curiousness for diverse and unique sounds and musical styles, mash it up with a distinct fondness for groove in every sense, and you got Cressida. This progressive trance act was launched in 2005 by Matthias together with Roland Geringer, who shared the same musical background the same passion for EDM back then. Working together for almost three years and gaining instant recognition for their tracks and remixes, the project Cressida never stopped growing and so did the list of labels they worked for, including Lost Language, Baroque Records, Afterglow, Ava Recordings, Somatic Sense, Alter Ego Records and Enhanced Records, only to name a few.

Run by Matthias alone since early 2008, that year marked the most successful for Cressida. The track “6AM” on the well established German label “Euphonic Records” hit the nail on the head with its beautiful melody and the amazing club interpretation by Euphonic label owners Kyau & Albert. The track still holds the record as highest charting trancetrack and was the best selling trance single of the year 2008 on www.beatport.com . It also got nominated for a beatport award and was featured on the well-known compilation “In search of sunrise” by Dj Tiesto.

The follow up EP to 6AM, called “Never Mind / Onyric”, has just been picked up by Armin van Buuren & Above & Beyond and will see the light of day on March 17, also on the Euphonic imprint. Backed up with remixes by Stoneface & Terminal and Sebastian Sand, this release is on the verge of becoming the next clubsensation for 2009. Keep your ears peeled for the Cressida - Sound, as you..re about to hear a lot more in the future!

Kenneth Thomas is quickly positioning himself as one of the to DJs in the Metropolitan Detroit Area. Continually striving for perfection and bringing progressive trance to the area both have been his main desires. Acquiring the headlining resident position on Saturday nights at Motor Detroit, voted number one club in America by URB Magazine 2001, and launched Kenneth into the spotlight. Playing Toronto's System Sound Bar and numerous events in Cleveland have aided him in becoming a force within the national realm. In Detroit he still concentrates on local club promoting and working relentlessly at bringing National as well as International talent to the scene.

An inspiring DJ, he says the following in his own words on how he got started in the music scene. “I was introduced to Paul Oakenfold's, Tranceport by some friends in San Francisco. Before that I had no interest in Electronic music. Two years later after becoming submersed in trance and progressive house music I picked up turntables.” His early influences include such artist as Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Sandra Collins, Sasha & Digweed, Dave Seaman and Jon Pak. These influences along with some great natural ability and fantastic energy are what make listening to “KT” so great!

He has struggled in his home are of Detroit, trying to break through the heavy influences of the Detroit techno scene. As he says, “traditionally this town has not embraced progressive styles of electronic music and has ever so graciously adopted the saying “Trance Sucks” as its motto as the anti-progressive capital of the world. This is a very techno oriented city that doesn't tend to validate any other form of electronic music. But with the help of my friends, fans, and other DJs we'll work to broaden the horizons of this city or at least reach as many new people as possible.

This ferocious DJ and producer has captivated audiences worldwide with her pounding mix of techno and trance and you can be sure there's some serious competition for the male DJ's around the world. But don’t let her looks deceive you--She's at the top of her game and has taken the industry by storm. She’s signed to Armada Music, one of the most critically acclaimed record labels in dance music. Synchronicity, her debut Armada mix compilation, has wowed fans all over the world and her highly anticipated sophomore EP, Ender, a rough-edged tech-trancer just out this month, is already topping the charts.

But that’s not all. Fei-Fei first broke through as an official Vandit recording artist - her debut EP, Hangar One, hit the top 10 beatport charts with days of its release. She's also just signed her alias, FFW, to Discover Dark, John Askew's label. With support from several of the industry giants such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, Above and Beyond, and Eddie Halliwell, and with residencies and gigs across the world, regular radio appearances and releases on the most respected labels, nothing can stop her. Fei-Fei has made her mark and is poised to take over.

Fei-Fei began her musical career early on as a classical pianist studying for over fifteen years before graduating to the turntable as her instrument of choice. She has developed a distinct sound -- an energetic mix of techno, trance and electro, slamming as many as thirty tracks in an hour. Seeking to prove herself on a larger scale, she moved to Los Angeles, one of the most competitive markets in the US. There, she flourished, even while earning a Master of Fine Arts from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She was discovered immediately by Club Red where she amassed an impressive following. She quickly became one of LA's top female DJ's, alongside DJ Rap and Irene. In 2004 she got her first gig at Godskitchen sharing the stage with Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules and many more, including a tag team set with Eddie Halliwell. Her technical prowess also earned her a spot on the Ecler Proteam representing Ecler at the world renowned NAMM show. Fei-Fei then landed residency at Spundae (Voted 1 Promoter @ 2006 IDMA & 37 Club in the World by Mixmag) and hasn't looked back since, touring across the states as well as internationally.

2008 has been a great year for Fei-Fei. She has topped the charts with several releases, co-created the successful club night, Nikita, at Circus Disco in Los Angeles, and is slated to play a series of high profile events around the states and overseas including the legendary Lovefest Parade. She delivers the same kind of of hard driving beats that audiences have come to love in her DJ sets. Hard and dirty, guaranteed.
