[sea][4.4.09][all]Down The Rabbit Hole 5
Due to circumstances beyond our control, The Citadel will be unable to accommodate our event. Upon the movement of Bounce, the owners of The Citadel promised us the changes that needed to be made would be done in time to have our event there. This, however, has NOT been the case. The owners of The Citadel represented upon signing the contract, that they had an occupancy permit. Thanks to Tygon and Adam's research, we found out this was not the case. We did everything we could to get the proper permits for The Citadel but to no avail.
Luckily, with the help of many other promoters (especially Travis WebbwerX), we were able to find a NEW VIRGIN VENUE with capacity enough to handle an event of this size.

KYAU & ALBERT
Euphonic Records / www.kyauandalbert.com (LOEBAU, GERMANY)
Ralph Kyau and Steven Moebius Albert are known to the EDM world as Kyau & Albert (formerly known as Kyau vs. Albert).
The two Germans have produced such massive club hits like Made Of Sun, Velvet Morning, Walk Down, Kiksu and Are You Fine?. One little known K&A fact: all male vocals come from Steven Moebius Albert himself! In 1997 Kyau & Albert founded their record label Euphonic, which is one of the top brands today.
Their successful debut artist album Here We Are Now was released on 3 continents. They remixed some of the biggest names in club land like Armin van Buuren, Kosheen, Gabriel & Dresden and so much more.
In October 2006 the duo entered the DJ Mag Top100 at very impressive 48. This year they've skyrocketed to number 22!
Kyau & Albert deliver massive, cutting edge DJ sets and their energy behind the decks is just simply infectious. Catching them live is something people won't soon forget! Check out the second album Worldvibe - CD released in these territories: Germany/Austria/Switzerland, UK/Eire, USA/Canada, Russia, South Asia + Mexico/Central America.
THE THRILLSEEKERS
Adjusted Music, Connected DJs / www.thrillseekers.co.uk (YORK, ENGLAND)
Over the last 10 years The Thrillseekers have stood at the forefront of both club and electronic dance music culture. From his debut Top 20 hit 'Synaesthesia' through to latter club anthems 'By Your Side', ‘Waiting Here For You’ & his latest epic ‘The Last Time’, Steve Helstrip’s music ranks as some of the most affecting, inspiring ever made. With artisan mixing skills and an innate, individualistic music selection, he’s conquered clubs around the planet, playing across 70+ countries and notching up over 500 gigs in his career. To date he’s been placed in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs chart 4 times, reaching No. 45 in 2008. He’s worked with electronic pioneers like Trevor Horn, shared co-production credits with Chicane and co-written on Ferry Corsten’s Grammy nominated ‘Right of Way’ album, notching up over 60 club-stomping productions and remixes in the process. He’s reworked Tiësto and Armin, amongst a host of others, and rewired Sonique’s ‘Feels So Good’ into a worldwide No.1 record. Through the now-legendary ‘NightMusic’ albums and supporting tours, he has also sold in excess of 50,000 compilation units and smashed 150 NightMusic branded events worldwide.
The Thrillseekers chronicles start back in 1999, where, on a comparatively basic home studio set-up Steve constructed the seminal, melodic trance milestone ‘Synaesthesia’. Initially released on Neo Records, at the height of trance’s first wave, it has gone on to sell a staggering 1 million copies across its numerous worldwide outings.
After Neo’s collapse in 2003, Steve took charge of The Thrillseekers’ catalogue with the launch of his own label, Adjusted Music. With demand sky high for 'Synaesthesia' and ‘Affinity’, both tracks were brought back around in 2004 to a huge reception. From there Adjusted continued to build the pressure with a procession of releases including ‘NewLife’, ‘The Last Time’ & ‘By Your Side’, that all demonstrated new angles and shades to Steve’s sound. The latter was championed by Pete Tong, being marked up, quite simply, as “Brilliant”!
Steve is now as well-known as a DJ as he is a producer, having quickly risen through the ranks captivating crowds the world over with his tough, forward-looking sets. His spinning career took off with such speed, that just 12 months after he first put needle to vinyl, he was invited to play at Paul van Dyk’s Birthday party.
In 2005 The Thrillseekers moved into compilation territory, with the release of ‘NightMusic Vol 1’. The CD and 30 date world tour that followed were an instant smash generating Stateside and Russian releases of the comp. Volumes 2 & 3 followed in 2007 & 2008 and the tours and albums have rapidly established themselves as a yearly staple for forward-thinking dance fans’ gig diaries and music collections.
In September 2008 The Thrillseekers delivered the first NightMusic Podcast. Presented monthly by Steve, it holds a mirror up to the ever-evolving worlds of cutting edge dance music. Heavily backed by iTunes, it became in instant download hit, while the radio version has rapidly expanded into one of the most popular FM & internet shows in production.
Artist collaborations have played an important part in Steve’s production career. Immediately following the success of ‘Synaesthesia’ Steve went on to launch a new moniker for M.O.S. subsidiary, Incentive. En-Motion was born with ‘Truth’ in 2000 and ‘Getting Away with It’ following in 2002. In the adjoining years he also pushed forward, partnering collaborations with Andy ‘Pulser’ Perring as Insigma (‘Insigma’/’Open Our Eyes’/’Avalon’) and with ATCR owner Tim Stark under the name Rapid Eye ('Never Going Back'/’Circa-Forever’/’Stealing Beauty’/'Santa Cruz'/'Absolut').

AREA 2: Electro / DNB / Breaks
DJ CAPITAL J
VIP Dubz / CAPS Music Inc. / www.djcaptialj.com
By the power of grey skull this dj is no joke! Conquering all sights and sounds of the disc-jockey world, Dj Capital J has been a triple threat since the age of 13 when he first showed the decks who’s boss.
Trained strictly as a battle DJ, Caps dominated his home town of London Ontario's scratch & mix competitions, where he remained undefeated & king of the dance for all of his adolescent years, while his production skills, even at such a young age earned him opening slots for supreme legends of hip-hop including Ice-T & Evil E, RUN DMC, EPMD, Red Man and tons more before he even left high school. His wide appreciation for music kept him locked on every sound that appealed to him, from hip-hop to hip-house up to breakbeat hardcore down to the rave then off to the jungle, Caps was on top of it all, mixing and producing oldskool jams that shook down the walls of London till there was nothing left, then eventually packing up his arsenal of dubplates and gunning straight for Toronto.
When Caps aka ‘Public Enemy #1’, arrived on the front steps of Toronto Canada in ‘97, he instantly took the D&B scene by storm, Scratching records with his elbows, feet and chin all while introducing the world to his (now infamous) style of jump-up head crushing D&B with an arsenal of home grown Dub-plates & remixes.Within two months of his arrival he was crowned DJ of the month by TRIBE magazine, who followed things up by releasing the magazines top selling mix tape ever from a Feature Dj, as well headlining the peak of the legendary Canadian party scene from east to west. Then Caps made his American debut in Philadelphia PA leaving the crowd in shock and amazement at what they just witnessed on stage. He Single handedly turned the North American Drum & Bass Party scene upside down, changing the game that opposing djs brought to the tables. From Canada to the UK, top djs stepped up their skills, selection and stage presence to compete with the new blood tearing up the scene.
Over the years, J has been releasing his ever growing monster sound on such labels as Food for thought, Phobic, Wikkid, N20, Mix N Blen, SRM, Frozen, Gangsta Gun, Ruff Soldier Select Records and so on, Starting with such floor mashers as The Throw Down, Niagara Falls featuring MC Fats, Bumbaclot, Mr. Mister, featuring hip-hop all-star (his lil bro) Ron B, the classic riot starter Ante Up Remix, sound clash anthem Dis Da Program, UK smash Evil Streets, the Wikkid Recs Camouflage Series which contained 4 singles, Jackmode, Whos Dat, Beat Boxin and Lock Jaw, followed by the even heavier Bling Series unleashing the Throwdown RMX. All releases mashed up the globe with an amazing response from Europe, US & Canada also receiving a lot of heavy play from the UK’s top Dj’s plus BBC’s 1xtra, KOOL Fm and a long list D&B radio, mixtape & internet mix shows everywhere.
Caps currently headlines Toronto's parties as well as venues all across Canada, USA, Europe, UK and Asia to name a few, making him a serious household name. With the launch of his new production on his own label ‘VIP DUBZ’ out now, keep an eye on this man, over the past year he’s been strengthening his production skills to match his amazing visual DJ sets, which keep him on top of the scene and always a crowd favorite.

AREA 3: Techno / Psytrance
BRYAN ZENTZ
Definitive Recordings / In-Tec Records - (PORTLAND, OREGON)
Bryan Zentz (aka Barada, Stare5, Faculty X, Bryan Never) is known as The Professor amongst the Intec posse, a thoughtful individual who takes an intelligent approach to his music. A skilled musician who takes pride in writing rather than sampling the vast majority of his music he leaves many others behind with the breadth of his versatility whether it's techno, house, electro, ambient or industrial.
Bryan's first release on Intec was the Skufftones 1.0 EP which included the stunning "Algebra", a real techno disco workout that blew up for a variety of DJ's such as Danny Tenaglia, Derrick May and Slam. His current release "Watch The Sun" is destined for greater things as he blends Latino piano with slap bass, showing why he's a true original in the techno scene.
Taken in by hip-hop, punk, graffiti, design, and different forms of electronic music, this Virginian has lived a creative youth. From playing in bands and being surrounded by a strong musical family (his father still performs), his ears are tuned when it comes to hearing an original sound. From an early love with hip-hop and house music, he found other roots of electronic music as influence. Devo, Kraftwerk, Inner City, Cabaret Voltaire, Skinny Puppy, Eric B & Rakim, Basic Channel, Rob Hood, and Jeff Mills - they've all held Bryan's ears closely at one time or another.
Bryan first made his name in electronic music as Barada (the name was taken from a Star Wars character) on Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva's legendary Definitive label with now classic releases such as "Medicine Drum" and "Glue". After a string of singles on labels like EXperimental, Bush and Clashbackk among others, the time came for a full length Barada album "Strategies for a Deeper Design" released through Definitive and Virgin Canada. And it was that rare thing, a house album that told a story.
Bryan is one of the few 'performing' artists of the house/techno genre and boasts one the meanest live sets in dance music that has rocked The End in London, Bugged Out! in Manchester, Florida135 in Barcelona, Twilo in NYC and The Arches in Glasgow.
Somewhat of a studio workaholic his unrelenting output has lead to the release of high quality gems on labels such as Zozan Music, Primate, Tronic, Electrix and Superbra to name a few. He has now turned his focus on to his artist album on Intec due in early 2002 which will be followed by an extensive world tour. Expect the unexpected!
FUTURE NURSES aka Osiris Indriya & Amanita
HOTWired / Infinite Connections / www.osirisindriya.com / www.myspace.com/djamanita (SEATTLE, WASHINGTON)
Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He has teamed up with Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe's tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. All this has helped inspire the release of his all original progressive and downtempo CD, "Reach Within". In addition to a blossoming music career, Osiris is a painter and digital artist with regular gallery showings with his works which describe the journey of the seeker discovering the truth of his being. Amidst all the projects, being a DJ and producing original music combined with his spiritual studies continue to be Osiris' focus.
From the rain soaked environment of the NorthWest and with a deep connection to electronic music, Brian Parker (aka Amanita) DJ, Producer, Promoter and A&R Representative for Infinite Connections continues to be featured alongside a global family of innovative and underground electronic music producers including Hallucinogen, Shpongle, KoxBox, Ticon, Atmos, Antix, Ace Ventura and FreQ at a variety of festivals, gatherings, club nights and events up and down the the Americas. Having been a integral part of various crews in California and the NorthWest for the better part of a decade Brian teamed up with Infinite Connections in 2005 to help shape and create a series of events known as "IOSIS Art Parties". Bringing together a world of audio and visual alchemy IOSIS Art Party continues to merge the many exciting media available to artists and musicians to create interactive events and gatherings that are like no other. While maintaining a deep respect for his hard psychedelic roots, Amanita now seeks to bridge the crossover between the deeper side of progressive, electro and psychedelic trance while using original tracks, sampling and studio edits to create his own unique driving sound.
MISS VIXEN
SubSensory Recordings (PORTLAND, OREGON)
Miss Vixen's obsession with electronic music began in the 80's when she would record game music from her Commodore 64. The influence of 8-bit bleeps and bloops would later resurface into a full fledged love affair with techno music.
Vixen taught herself to mix records at the age of 20 and shortly there after was rocking dancefloors through out the Northwest. Known for her brand of hard techno for many years, she has recently swapped the 140bpm style for a more stripped down, club friendly approach. Her current sound is a carefully crafted blend of minimal spiced with jackin tech-house, bangin funky techno, bass heavy electro and darker, eerie moments. Influences include Adam Beyer, Camea, Speedy J, Bryan Zentz, Dominik Eulberg and many more.
This year Vixen has joined forces with SubSensory Recordings, a Portland based techno label that has been gaining momentum, and is expecting to release her own production work soon. She also holds a residency at Portland's premier techno club Branx, known for it's underground, dirty warehouse style vibe.
MAGNUS aka Michael Lee
Discover / www.blackvortex.com (SEATTLE, WA via BALTIMORE, MD)
Magnus, aka Michael Lee, was first introduced to electronic music in September of 1999 while living near Atlanta when some friends invited him to a show. During that experience, he realized he had found the sound he had long been searching for. After a few years as a listener, he began to DJ around the Seattle area using the DJ name of “Magnus.” During those years he began to feel the pull towards music production and eventually began producing music of his own. Magnus has also teamed up with fellow producer Jay Selway where the duo has already produced several tunes with upcoming releases on Pharmacy, J00F Recordings, and CD releases on Ministry of Sound and Moist Music. Keep an eye out for Jay Selway and Magnus as they release tracks both individually and together as a team.
