Friday October 19th the Last Supper Club
Presents:
Blank & Jones
Cologne, Germany | Kontor | Liquid | Gang Go |

Seven artist albums and 15 hit singles. That says it all.
Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones have been hugely important in the history of
electronic music.
It all started in 1997 with their debut single Sunrise, the first step
towards producing their own tracks. Nowadays, one cannot imagine the
electronic elite without BLANK & JONES. 13 of their singles made it into
the German Top 50, and three into the Top 20. Each and every album hit
the Top 50, including two which climbed into the Top 10. They also
scored a spectacular triple whammy by occupying the Top Ten album, singles
and compilation charts simultaneously with Substance, Desire and The
Mix respectively.
BLANK & JONES have teamed up with a number of top international stars
in their career to date. The Cure mastermind Robert Smith, Anne Clark,
Sarah McLachlan and Claudia Brücken (Propaganda) have been immortalized
on BLANK & JONES tracks, giving them a certain credibility way beyond
the boundaries of dance music. Further evidence of their versatility can
be seen in their contributions to the Café del Mar compilation series
and their own chill-out albums, Relax and Relax (Edition 2). Next up,
the people behind the Buddha Bar series have also made enquiries..
BLANK & JONES’ roots are firmly placed in DJ culture. Year after year,
millions of ravers around the globe feel the heat of their sensational
sets at major events like Mayday, Nature One and Love Parade as well as
in clubs all over the world. BLANK & JONES mix DJ and live, making the
most of today’s technology. “We do everything digitally, on the basis
of Final Scratch, which allows us to use our own edits and mixes,
nothing comes straight from tape. Every set we play is unique, not only
sound-wise but also in terms of what we play and how we play it. Roughly
60% of our set consists of our own repertoire, as where better to present
our own material than via the DJ decks.“
BLANK & JONES are global players in the best sense of the word, with a
worldwide reputation to match. They are more than welcome guests at the
major festivals and raves in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and
Russia. At the beginning of the year, they played to 15,000 fans in St.
Petersburg! They also travel further afield on a regular basis, to Canada,
Mexico, South America and Australia.
2005 saw BLANK & JONES spend a lot of time in the USA, where A Forest
proved to be a big success. Electronic music is growing and growing
Stateside, so BLANK & JONES will return to LA, San Diego, San Francisco and
many more cities in North America this year. Overwhelmingly positive
reactions to Catch on the initial instalment of the BLANK & JONES tour
mean that the American fans can hardly wait for The Singles to be
released. This will be the third BLANK & JONES US album.
The Singles will be released worldwide on May 12th on Kontor Records, a
milestone for electronic music. Essential listening for BLANK & JONES
fans, but also for fans in general who are into dance /house/ electro-.
The ultimate collection!

and a very special opening set by:
Andrew Cox

If you have listened to the progressive house and trance
sounds of Seattle in the past 7 years then you mostly likely know of DJ
Andrew Cox. He is synonymous with Tuesday nights at club Watertown,
also known as PRESESENCE, which with the help of friends he ran and DJ'd
at for 5 years. Many Seattle DJ's have taken to the decks at PRESENCE
and have even been able to get their start playing out because the
night. In addition to Watertown Andrew has also been a resident at the
Last Supper Club, Deep Down Lounge, En, Contour, the Ballard Firehouse,
Syndicate Recordings, and spun at Bumbershoot in 2003.
The last few years he has spent building a production studio and
working on his own tracks as well as other musical side projects. However
Andrew has decided to dust of the record collection, fill up his digital
crate, and step back up behind the decks. You'll be sure to enjoy the
beats and rhythms from this seasoned and technical DJ; and you may hear
some original, never before played out, tracks as well!

we've got a special opening act for this night and this DJ will be announced in the next day or so.
He's been around this scene for years and took a bit of a hiatus but will be coming back with a vengeance for this show!

So I'm taking a break from all the partying out in seattle for a few weeks, but I'll be there early front and center! There have been some crazy shows at LSC the past month and a half.

Some reviews from the Vancouver show:
-Man when they started with Project:Project, I went insane.. thats the one track from The Mix 40 that I wanted them to play soooo badly, so for them to start with it, I really got into the set from the beginning.
I loved how Piet kept on putting on the oldies and more cheesey trance and you could hear and see Jaspa being like 'no no no...' haha. they seem like great guys! It was well worth the 7 years of wanting to see them for me
-I thought a really good mix of their current favourites (from their The Mix radio show on di.fm) as well as their productions from years ago.
-I needed that trance-therapy too ..
Love the house and prog but, nothing beats the rush @ 140bpm!
-this was a wicked show. i'm happy we even get big name dj's out here, blank and jones and then gabriel and dresden next month. how awesome is that.

Bring your temp with an old ID or bring a pasport. Even though its legal just to use the paper, we're not accepting them do to the ease of counterfeiting. The Mayor is doing sting operations at epic levels right now trying anything he can to get clubs shut down. We are being really strict at the door right now.
I'm sorry, I know its not your fault that our Mayor is a douch bag.
